JIGSAW

A “drum ‘n bass” groove rhythmically propels this composition. The time signature alternates between 4/4 on the A sections and 7/4 on the bridge. It is primarily an alto saxophone feature but also features bass clarinet in the intro and drums at the end. It is rhythmically and technically challenging throughout but very fun to play once it’s been rehearsed! It can be heard on the recording “Alan Ferber Nonet: Scenes From An Exit Row.” This download includes all transposed instrumental parts and a concert score. Instrumentation: trumpet, trombone, alto sax, tenor sax, bass clarinet, guitar, piano, bass, and drums.
