Front-end Design for Systems

This book is published with the specific purpose of setting standards and guidelines for Graphical User Interface (GUI) design and development. The book was originally a document written by PsySys Limited and it is intended to provide a guide to designing and developing the presentation layer, or ‘front-end’ for systems applications. A further reason for writing this book is to ensure that high standards are adhered during systems developments. As an overall guideline, it is intended that various Microsoft Windows versions (95, 98, 2000 and XP Professional) look and feel is achieved. To this end, The Windows Interface Guidelines for Software Design (Microsoft Press) should be used as the definitive source of reference unless specifically overridden by sections contained in this book.
