The Election

This book sets a cracking pace from the very beginning when a barbaric act is committed on the Kokoda Track during the Second World War. The incident reverberates down to the next generation on both sides, Australian and Japanese when, in the new Australian republic Michael Takada wins selection for Queensland and is in the running to be Australia's first president. The trouble is, Takada's father is Japanese and not everybody is happy about it.
