Foundations & Memories

In 1985 I felt called by God to, ‘start a Christian school’ near Orewa, in North Auckland, New Zealand. I was an artist and not a trained educator, I lacked experience, financial resources and was reluctant to take such a project on. But I did share and write about the need for Christ centred education, and we started a non-denominational prayer group. 18 months later, KingsWay School opened its door to 10 students who were 5 to 7 years old. This is the story of that very little school, the lessons learned in hearing God’s voice, His provision and the great team of many people who offered their services and gave of themselves. Today KingsWay has a roll of over 1300 pupils aged 5 to 18 years and is developing similar schools in the region. Graham Braddock, September 2016.
