An Altered Reality

The personal preferences and characteristics of an author change and fluctuate over time, and thus through each piece of writing. This being said, at least some sense of their individuality is reflected in every paragraph, sentence, and even word that they write. This anthology of my work consists of the three stories I most resonated with in the past few months. With each of these stories, it barely felt like I was writing them, and more like they were writing themselves. Once I got an ounce of motivation, the letters simply poured out onto the page. As you read, you may find some of these preferences and artistic choices that are unique to me as a writer. “He is Called Death” is the exploration of a dark and ominous topic intertwined in the story of a young man in the military. This short but grim tale is sure to leave you breathless. The next story is “Deja Vu”, its topic defined clearly in the title. A man is met with the ability to travel back in time and relive a day that haunts him far too often, but the truths that he discovers there will alter his life forever onward. Rounding out this anthology is the longest story of the three, “Running”. The reader follows two best friends in their journey through a strange and dystopian society. Through ups and downs, they are focused solely on survival, but a bleak turn of events shifts their focus to a much bigger picture.
