Laura West,a lively intelligent seventeen-year-old begins to develop symptoms of a little known nervous condition,she doesn't pay too much attention and accepts the well known comforting adage of "It's just growing pains!" But when she loses the use of her limbs and is hospitalised, Mr.Jenkins, her specialist, reveals his shocking conclusions to her father Mark West.
