Shims and Shams

These poems are a biography of my life, beginning in high school days when everything was so idealistic; later my time away from home in the Navy. There is a long blank time while I was busy just being a mom, just too busy to make life into rhymes. Then came the grandchild, a divorce, a time to cry, to wonder; time to make rhymes to fulfill expressions too complex to keep inside. Later, here and there, came a few more, but when we joined the church, then came a time of happiness, which is all in these poems too. I expose my heart and my soul in many of these poems. Some have that twist of humor that is a gift to me; as well as my gift of gab! A few I feel were not written by my hand alone, of which I am especially proud. They were truly inspired!
