Physical Geography is the study of our home planet and covers essential life-giving compo-nents: its lands, waters, atmosphere, and biomes. In this book, some chapters are centered on the study of Earth’s climates, others are devoted to the processes that shape the land. Still, others depict the importance of water and fellow plants and animals that share the world. For as long as people have been on the planet, humans have had to live within Earth’s boundaries. Now human life is having a profound effect on the planet. Some of these effects and how we can better manage them are touched upon.
