Reflections

This book is a collection of poems that capture moments from tennis coaching sessions with neurodivergent children: the first time a child made contact with the ball, the quiet joy of shared progress, the challenge of communication, and the unexpected ways we learned from each other. These are not just poems about tennis—they’re about patience, empathy, and the power of seeing people as they are. Artwork in the book was provided by students of Serving Advantage, an organization whose mission is: “To help people of all abilities develop a love and passion for tennis by serving them the advantage with social skills needed for everyday life, while also promoting awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for the special needs community.”
