Between Subject and Object. A Third Place

Between subject and object there is an understanding, this has become an unspoken agreement, an unwritten law that defines and combines the universe we know. Whether this is the search for a sub atomic particle or spirituality, the illusion of free will demands we look within this gap. “ And when one looks into the abyss…” Over the ages this place has been given many names; Plato would call this The True Form, Hegel, Absolute Spirit and Heidegger considers this the Being of Being. One thing is agreed upon and that is there is a place, conceptual, spiritual, subliminal, sublime. In recent years this search has perhaps become the search to define consciousness, indeed it is the challenge of philosophers and physicists alike to capture, contain and quantify the soul.
