Gray Walker is a young girl from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania who can't wait more than anything to start middle school. But when things gradually go wrong in the walls of Robertson Street Middle School and her father passes of a brain aneurysm. She's given the opportunity to renew her life in one of the greatest cities in the world of New York. But when things still don't seem to look up for our young protagonist, she's given the greatest renewal of all.
