Oh Stan!

A psychedelic/surrealist novel by Zak Ferguson. Comparisons are odious, but often essential (at least for the lazy reviewer). This book, and probably all of Zak’s work, finds cousins in Flann O’Brien, Pierre Albert Birot (Grabinolour), Leonora Carrington, Barry Yourgrau, Kelly Link… and many more. There are superficial similarities with those people but what really places him in their company, is that (like all of them) he really isn’t like anyone else at all. He is totally ‘in himself’, draws on everything, favours nothing.
