Peter Saunders

Peter Saunders is a retired academic and policy analyst who now works as an independent researcher and writer. Between 1976 and 1999 he taught sociology at the University of Sussex, where he is still Emeritus Professor. He then spent ten years in Australia where he was Director of Social Research at the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney. He is also a Distinguished Fellow of the London-based policy think-tank, Civitas. Most of his academic and think-tank publications are still in print and can be purchased on Amazon. He has also self-published two novels through Lulu - a political thriller (The Versailles Memorandum) and a story about a former pop star accused of historic sex abuse (The Sweetest Girl) . Also available on Lulu is Croydon Boy: Growing Up in Post-War Britain. Drawing on personal experiences as well as sociological evidence, the book explores what it was really like growing up in Britain in the fifties and sixties.
