A Practical Guide to Open Systems for Learning

This manual is about Free and Open Source Applications for use in education. In Section 1 it provides practical descriptions of software applications that can be used to support learning and in Section 2 provides a rational for policy making that actively promotes the use of Free and Open Source software in publicly funded education and training institutions. It is intended to be complementary to the INGOT Transfer of Innovation project co-funded by the European Commission as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
