Soccer madness in America

January 15, 2007: the David Beckham transfer saga has finally been put to bed today as the former England captain announces that he will move to Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States in the summer of 2007 after completing his contract at Real Madrid. The MLS and the United States soccer world in general is virgin territory with the young generation of up and coming potential football fans and if soccer/football is ever to gain a foothold in a nation more accustomed to large men in lots of pads running into each other then it will take a big name like David Beckham to become the poster boy and really garner national interest.
