15 year old Scobie Greenwood’s life in Lazenby is going nowhere fast. He’s dodging school and trying to dodge the brutality of his mother’s abuser Roy. He dreams of escape but can’t figure out how to do it. When he and his mates break into the crumbling stately home Montesole Hall they stumble on something unbelievable: a secret world beneath the Hall and a living Polar bear named Ragnar. Soon Scobie is sneaking back - not this time to loot the Hall’s treasures but to try to grab a new life. But when the Hall is threatened with demolition he’s forced to decide what and who is worth fighting for and how far he can go to save his new life from destruction.
