Coalition: The Beginning

While training to liaise between his home world and the humans of Earth, Zohn Kai, prince of the Basti people develops an unusual friendship with one of the humans that he is training alongside. Aided by the spirit of his dead wife, he meets up with another of his species that he must learn to love, all while being both a teacher and student. He encounters prejudice, respect and challenges to both his understandings of this young race of humans as well as his own understanding of friendship between two very different species as a long cold war heats up, bringing back forgotten memories that hinder both his ability to love as well as his willingness to maintain his discipline. No matter what happens, he knows that this is only the beginning of a new chapter in his very long life among his short-lived human allies.
