When geologist Daniel Garcia is recruited by Sol authorities to find a rare, magical crystal known as a Talisman on a world at the far end of human expansion, his greed for wealth embroils him in the middle of a power struggle between two powerful forces. The Sovereignty Lords seek to use the powerful essence of the Talisman toward their own purposes, while a disgraced admiral’s ambition to restore his status drives him to claim the isolated world for his own. Daniel must use the Talisman's powerful energy to serve the needs of the Sovereignty Lords and defeat the admiral's fleet of spaceships.
