Social Theory

This book builds upon some of the classical sociological theory and presents a wide range of diverse and interesting perspectives, several of which continue to evolve and influence contemporary policy makers, protest cultures and even advertising executives. Studying social theory consists of more than revisiting the collected works of long dead white European men whose work has been pored over by generations of students. The classical sociological tradition certainly needs acknowledging and this book will do this, but social theory matters now in the present, and much of the material covered here resonates with contemporary concerns.
