A young prince in the kingdom of Ganis on the Continent has one wish in life: to become a Knight of the Round Table. But such an honor must be earned through the performance of great deeds. At the behest of his brother who is already one of King Arthur’s knights, Blamor, the young prince, embarks for Camelot to make his wishes known to the king. His quest for knighthood is a difficult one. It begins as a scullery in the kitchens of Camelot where he is little more than a peasant. In time, he rises to the role of squire, trained by the great knight Sir Gawain in the finer points of combat and chivalry. Soon, he finds himself as the participant and hero of several exploits which gain the king’s attention. In the meantime, he falls in love with one of the most desirable maidens at court, but since she is noble and he but a squire, there in an insurmountable barrier between them—a barrier that must be overcome through deeds that any knight would be proud of. Blamor de Ganis is a modern version of the Medieval Romance, the most popular literary genre of the Middle Ages. Each one of his encounters, both natural and supernatural, moves him one step closer to his ultimate goal of becoming a Knight of the Round Table.
