"Love, Nick" is a personal account of an Asthmatic young man, Pfc David "Nick" Crombie, serving as a medic in the US Army. It is compiled from letters that he wrote home to his family. The letters encompass the time that he spent waiting to get into Boot Camp, Boot Camp itself, Medic Training, and Duty Stations in Germany, Kuwait, and Iraq. The letters include personal notes from Nick's Mom. Pfc Crombie died in action from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that exploded next to the Humvee that he was riding in while on patrol in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on June 7, 2006.
