Advancing years bring a whole host of changes and difficulties that are almost inconceivable while we are young. Older people no longer possess the same strength of mind and body as they did in former days. Many find it difficult to cope with the normal pressures of everyday life. And anxieties and fears increase as our years draw to a close. In THE BETTER LAND, Pastor James Smith provides help for older saints who may be struggling with these challenges. He urges them to look to Christ amidst all their present trials, while reminding them of the glorious future that awaits them beyond the Jordan. And although this collection of 32 short devotions is chiefly written for the elderly, it contains truths which every believer needs to hear. Regardless of our age, we all must be prepared to leave behind our family, friends and possessions, and meet our Saviour in “The Better Land.” ───────────────────────── Originally published in 1855.
