Today there is immense trauma among the people and likewise the sense of not being valued as a human being among each other. This is exactly how I felt for most of my youth years feeling that I did not belong. I could not work out if there was something actually wrong with me mentally or was it the fact that I was no longer having my voice heard. My quality of self-expression diminished. As a result, I was trampled all over on through bullying, emotional and sexual abuse as the result of my very own trauma. I had never sought help as I never knew how, or perhaps was afraid of what might happen if I do. Would people ever think of me as normal again? I was normal though, I mean I am normal, completely normal. I may have anxiety and neurological damage, yet I can still thrive in this world to my maximum potential. Yet, the people that instilled fear in me and made me feel like their new target to bully every day, made me question my own self-worth. Maybe there was something in my life that knew enough was enough. I was then guided by Islam, a religion I never imagined myself to be in. I thank God every day for finding me and helping me turn to Him. My life there changed profoundly. I am no longer slapped. I am…Untangled. Read my story to find out how Islam found me.
