In the mid-seventies, we reaped the benefits of the Marvel renaissance. A respect for continuity gave our stories a rich history and our heroes an emotional depth. It was a world typified by the X-Men, Spider-Man, Green Arrow, and Green Lantern. By the death of Gwendolyn and the death of Speedy. Of the Falcon and the Black Panther; and the Vision and the Scarlet Witch. It was a world where Spider-Man and Superman questioned the limits, not of their powers, but of their responsibilities. What is one man’s responsibility to his community? When one man can turn back time, what evils cannot be fixed? It was a world of Men… and Supermen.
