Nate is a teacher at a community college in the great plains. Not really the kind of position where humanity is about to take a huge bend in its' development, but you never can predict these things Meanwhile, Nate has returned from a few days on jury duty to a place that seems slightly different that the community college he left. Different in weird way. The new Japanese teacher, the dresses being sold by the sewing department, the cat-eared waitresses at the cafe.... The thing is, Nate is the only one sho sees it.
