No one said walking away from the Hollywood mind-set of how-to, when-to, where-to and with whom to make movies with would be easy. Unless you never had to in the first place. All Steve Balderson had to do was decide it was time to make films and walk away from the last semester at CalArts. If you want to make feature films, though, it can be done. Steve Balderson and his film Firecracker prove the point and in this case, the proof is in the pudding.
