In a society that constantly keeps score for us, how do we take back the power to build our own scoreboard? As Kevin McGraw watched his oldest son prepare for college, he found himself asking: what would his son remember from all of the life lessons he had spent years trying to instill? More importantly, how could he prepare both of his sons to resist the exhausting trap of measuring success solely by society's standards? Wanting to give his boys a framework for keeping their own score and knowing firsthand the cost of letting society's scoreboard become the only one that mattered, Kevin began reflecting on what he had learned throughout his life. He distilled those lessons into simple, enduring principles and paired each one with a meaningful object, creating tangible reminders his sons could keep for the rest of their lives.
