The Singing Trees

This book, illustrated with powerful color images made by young people from the U.S, Peru, Sierra Leone,and Germany, describes how to make a collaborative mural. The purpose of the Singing Tree project is to create a safe space for a community of people to envision the solution to challenges they face, so that effective action can be taken. The book tells the story of a visionary child who saw everyone in the world cooperating to make something beautiful together. The whole world is invited to spread a forest of beauty and wisdom. The book describes the first five Singing Trees and has instructions for growing your own Singing Tree or joining in on one that is already started. There are curriculum tie-ins for teachers in geography, civics, life sciences, ecology, math and English.
