Penelope's Perils is the story of a young lady living in Medieval England with her father, Sir Rolfe, a knight of the king's order. Fifteen years earlier Rolfe married the Lady Madeleine, who dies in childbirth the night Penelope is born.
When Sir Rolfe is called back to London by the king, Penelope disobeys her father and follows after him. While on the way, she finds herself involved in many adventures of the type she has sought all her life.
Penelope makes friends among the pages and squires on the tournament grounds just outside of London ... the same tournament that the king has called her father to attend. Also counted as her friends are a set of triplets from her father's hamlet and a prince who will later become Penelope's husband.
