On February 11, 1860, the first published biography of Abraham Lincoln appeared on the front page of The Chester County Times. This biography influenced one million voters and propelled Lincoln towards the presidency.
The building where this historic publication took place continues to stand in downtown West Chester. The Lincoln Building, as it is now called, is owned by the Chester County Community Foundation. Net proceeds from the deluxe edition of For the Union go towards preserving and protecting this historic structure as a time-capsule into our past.
