A Reason for the Hope: Essays in Apologetics

A Reason for the Hope offers essays on Christian apologetics. Apologetics is the reasoned defense of the Christian faith. This book serves as a basic introduction to Christian apologetics and is intended to give readers not only a theologically-grounded approach to defending the faith, but also offers several examples on topics ranging from postmodernism, to the problem of evil, to eastern meditation, to the divine origin of the Bible, and more. Christians are called upon to engage in apologetics in 1 Peter 3:15: "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer [or defense; Greek: 'apologia'] to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" (NIV). This book is a first step to learning how to do just that.
