Lode Creek

Rolf Fastring's behavior is puzzling to the many people he knows, especially to his father. A recent college dropout, he is looking for a cause. He seems to find a new one almost daily. His turns with the opposite sex assume similar status. When not employed by his father as an errand chaser, he enjoys his immediate environment and spends much of his free time camping and fishing. In pursuit of another hobby, he takes up ultralight flying. When the community in which he lives is about to face a major threat to its existence, Rolf uses his new ultralight flying skills to defuse an impossible situation, and finds his own lifestyle compromised. By this time, his personal life has included a new romance that tends toward future possibility.
