Knight Maneuvers

Samuel Chelsea is not your typical hero. He is armed only with a legal license, obtained late in life, and a strong sense of justice. His zeal as a public defender thrusts him into pivotal cases with far reaching consequences, successively facing ever more powerful foes. He will force society to ponder increasingly complex questions about whom and what has the right to define and control life. Ultimately, those questions will be decided by the readers of the series, no easy task. In each story, readers must wrestle between positions widely held as truth, until juxtaposed. The Game of Life begins in a world like our current one, and ends in a world quite unlike our own. In Knight Maneuvers, the patient was obviously in danger of losing his life. No one suspected it would happen at the hand of a total stranger, entering his room to unplug the life support machinery. Equally incomprehensible were the multiple people lining up to claim responsibility for the deed. Especially since no one saw any of them actually kill the doctor’s son.
