Amanda Groves is a brilliant young lawyer, the epitome of success. But, following a Friday night out in Surfers Paradise with her friends, her life changes forever. A casual dalliance unwittingly thrusts her into a violent turf war between two rival motorcycle clubs on The Gold Coast. Torn between her professional ethics and her perfect lifestyle, Amanda has a crucial decision to make. Meanwhile the local community reels as an unexplained bombing catapults the two clubs into a turf war of retaliation, shattering the Gold Coast’s idyllic lifestyle. Teddy McVie, an ambitious young journalist employed by the local rag, The Echo, has an obsessive interest in the motorcycle clubs, driven by the death of his brother, Jake. A strange alliance between Teddy and Amanda forms, as they try to clear the Sergeant at Arms of one of the clubs, The DESPOTS, of murder. Their journey weaves its way through a complex web of corrupt police, triads and a puppeteer who is pulling the strings, as it races towards a stunning climax.
