THE SHADOW GIRL is a science fiction novel by American author, Ray Cummings, first published as a serial in Argosy All-Story Magazine in 1929. It was reprinted in the UK in 1946 and in the US in 1962. The multi-themed story features, time travel, parallel dimensions, and adventure, and a mysterious girl, Lea, who appears in modern-day New York, linked to a time-bridge tower that brings a future metropolis and a past pirate colony into conflict with the present. The story follows protagonists who get entangled in the mystery, uncovering secrets about the girl, a villainous doctor, and the strange technology that threatens to destroy their city. The siblings, Alan and Annette Tremont, and their friend, Edward, are drawn by the Shadow Girl into time-travelling adventures.
