One of Us

A young accident victim, remembering nothing of his past, tries to move on. New job, new flat, new friends. But two things keep tugging his thoughts back to his previous life. There is evidence of unusual surgery on his skull. And he realises he is being watched by mysterious people. Then a stranger tells him he’s almost eighty years old. What is he to make of that? The answers seem to lie within an old house near the River Forth. But his attempts to discover the house's secrets provoke a response that sees him running for his life, clambering precariously among the rust-coloured girders of the Forth Rail Bridge with the Watchers promising death on one side – police threatening jail on the other. Alan is grateful for the assistance of a plausible Gary and a protective Julie. But are his new companions what they seem? Dare he trust them as he searches for the truth about who he was and what he has become?
