The Bethrothed

I have always been bullied by my older brother. Being the younger of two children I guess that’s how nature balances everything. He was born, he was the only child, and everybody loved him. He got what he wanted, toys, love, attention and everything you can give a child. Then six years later I was born. All he had went to me. Whenever he did something wrong he was reprimanded, whenever I did something wrong either I was consoled or he was reprimanded. I believe this is how it always starts among siblings. From that time on it’s always trouble. The bigger one preys on the younger one, sometimes even in front of their parents. My brother, Luke, was not like that. He learned his lesson early. If my parents were around he behaved himself. In that way he got share the attention and praises and, most of the time, gets half of whatever loot my parents had for us.
