Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis is a satirical novel about George F. Babbitt, a prosperous real estate salesman living in a comfortable Midwestern American city. Though successful by society’s standards, Babbitt becomes increasingly dissatisfied with the conformity, materialism, and shallow values surrounding him.
