Let Justice Be Done

Dido Elizabeth Belle is the daughter of a slave and a British Naval Captain, she has been raised by her rich and powerful Uncle the Lord Chief Justice of England William Murray. A chance meeting with Olaudah Equiano the ardent abolishinist makes Dido realise that she is one of only a priviledged few mixed race women, protected and free, and ensured a happy life. This play follows her enlightenment and the possible part she might have played in the Somerset Ruling, the very law that ensured the beginning of the end of Slavery in England.
