Idunna #101 (Fall 2014) focused on valkyries as its theme -- the female figures in Norse mythology who are said to choose the souls of slain warriors to go to Valhöll or Valhalla. Stephan Grundy leads off with an except from his book _The Cult of Ódinn_, discussing what is known of the valkyries in the ancient lore. Sara Axtell discusses the supernatural beings in the "Helgi cycle" of poems, and Ben Waggoner contributes a translation of the Old Norse poem "Hrafnsmál" and a translation of the spooky "Tale of Thidrandi and Thorhall." Seanan McGuire's incredible short story "Homecoming" and John Mainer's "Helm of Awe-some" give you plenty of fiction to enjoy, and there's poetry from Ann Gróa Sheffield, Finn McMillan, Michaela Macha, and Hilary Ayer. And we've also got our usual columns, news of Heathen happenings, book reviews, and more!
