The Ur-Board Book

The UR-BOARD is a priceless treasure from ancient Sumer. Discovered in the ruins of the city of Ur, where it had lain for 4.5 thousand years, it pre-dates the Bible by centuries. Yet when interpreted by a contemporary symbolist, it displays a knowledge of human life and history that is characteristically modern. Primarily a game board, with dice and markers, it is also a beautiful art object, or art “form”; a paradigm of human wisdom, based on the design of the human body; a mathematical and geometrical standard, with a symbolic “magic number” board; and a prophetic “structure,” that speaks to us about our historical and religious traditions. As a modern game board, it offers a unique series of movement and placement games, that can be played by two initiates in an hour or so, as a cult-experience among friends. Discover for your self the joys of learning from and playing with an Ur-board. And enjoy contemplating the vision of a future world as it is revealed by the UR-BOARD BOOK.
