I wrote 'Rebeca's Revenge' many years ago. Until now, I did not feel comfortable publishing it as it would have greatly conflicted with the image I had established over a 15 year period with my child readership audience. Now, in the autumn of my life where I write only for adults, it feels appropriate to have this 'strictly for adults' story published widely. 'Rebecca's Revenge' spans 50 years in the life of a teenage girl between the 1950s and the New Millennium. Sally Cartwright has an identity crisis after discovering her physical attraction for another girl. After her mother deserts the family home, her father kills himself and her friend is raped by the master's son, the villagers of Mirfield in West Yorkshire ostracise her. She heads for the mills of Manchester to seek work and a new future. 'Rebecca's Revenge' uses the everyday coarser language of the mills in parts of the book and doesn't shy away from a number of themes that may shock. A book that will be hard to put down.
