Cat's Paw

America is in upheaval. The nation is severely fractured. This fictional story focuses on fly-over states and the frustrations of the rustbelt. Russian Oligarchs have a project code named Cat's Paw. They own a shell corporation that deals in a legitimate appearing sporting goods but are supplying military weapons to angry violent dissident factions. These businessmen have contacts deep in the interworking of Washington and use the Department of Justice to their advantage. The story is told from many perspectives: the Oligarchs and their associates, a team of three FBI agents, a Montana Federal Forest Ranger, and a Czech born Russian operative - Maria Akova. It is rich with dialog and human interaction.
