Bernard F. Barcio, L.H.D.
Bernard F. Barcio received his BA in Philosophy from Holy Cross Seminary, La Crosse, Wisconsin, his MA in Latin and Greek from the University of Michigan and completed post-graduate work with Tufts University in Naples, Italy, in 1965. He taught Latin for 32 years, being honored as Indiana Teacher of the Year in 1986, before retiring from the classroom in 2006. Besides helping to lead the Indiana Classical Conference for seventeen years, and founding and directing Pompeiiana, Inc., as a National Center for the Promotion of Classical Studies, he spent 34 years on stage as a Personae Presenter, bringing Roman characters to life for audiences across the world. After researching and publishing a book of his own family’s stories, entitled THAT'S NOT THE WAY I REMEMBER IT, he began to consider just how all the details surrounding the birth of Jesus must have been passed down to the writers of the New Testament Gospels. It was this consideration that led to RAISING JESUS, THE EARLY YEARS.
