I just love learning new things. When I was young, I would shake the bottle of soda to see if the top really would blow off. I mixed stuff up to see what it would taste like and called it my "secret potion." I would take my record player outside and dance with the wind. As I got older, I would get lost in my own imaginary worlds and sneak off to vacant fields to smell and taste the flowers. When I was a teen, I read Smithsonian for fun because school subjects were things I did to get into college and college ended up being something I did so that I could get paid work. I started writing for pay after college when my husband and I decided that I would stay home with our first high need infant. There was so much to learn and so much fun to be had that I couldn't stand being separated from all the little people who were born to us, so I stay home, make concoctions with herbs and vegetables, sing and dance, write, pretend with my young friends, and continue to learn new things.
