Andy Anzanos
Born in 1924 and raised in Gary, Indiana. Enlisted in the Army Air Corp from High School. Became an Engineer/Top Turret gunner serving with the 390th Bomb Group of the 8th Airforce B-17 Flying Fortress. Flew 26 combat missions during the intense aerial battles of WWII. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and 4 Air Medals. After the war, attended Parks College of St. Louis University graduating with a BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft and Aircraft Engine FAA mechanics certificates and a private pilot's license. Employed for 33 years at McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis attaining department manager for the Astronautics division contract pricing and negotiating. Retired in Tucson, Arizona where he discovered his WWII Bomb Group was building a museum. He quickly became instrumental in its construction and development. Became a publisher with his memoirs and of his friends with the results herein.
