Jimmy Reynolds is the Executive Director of the Choptank Tolomato Legacy Project, (CTLP) a 501c3 arts education foundation which focuses on teaching cultural literacy of the Chesapeake region through public arts projects. CTLP was initiated by Jimmy as a way to bring his decades of education experience out of the classroom and into the community at large. Reynolds has been working with children and adults with learning difficulties since 1984, and he focusses on large-scale hands-on projects as a way of facilitating successful learning experiences for both of these populations. As lead artist with CTLP, Reynolds creates group projects which focus on regional history. Reynolds has lead in the creation of a number of murals in the area as well as numerous Chesapeake workboats using traditional methods of construction. Through the creation of both ABC coloring books featuring his poetry and prose, and his painstakingly researched full color illustrated books examining regional history and environmental concerns, Reynolds - and the Choptank Tolomato Legacy Project - are dedicated to making the stories and culture of the Chesapeake accessible to both inhabitants of the watershed and those from outside the area who are interested in discovering more about the unique culture legacy of the region.
