Jessica K. Williams grew up in rural Georgia, where red clay roads and close-knit communities quietly shaped her voice long before she knew she would one day publish books. As a child, she found comfort in words. Journals became safe spaces. Descriptive writing became a way to preserve moments that might otherwise be forgotten. Though life required her to step into the workforce immediately after high school, and later back into the classroom in her thirties to earn her degrees, the writer within her never disappeared; she simply waited. In 2018, Jessica returned to her first love: storytelling. Since then, she has authored books across multiple genres, including the Southern cookbook Comfort Food for the Soul: Southern Recipes from Jessie’s Kitchen, the wild game collection Rattlesnakes, Quails & Whitetails, the relationship guide Married to the Badge: Tactical Marriage Survival Guide, the self-development book Don’t Talk About My Friend Like That: A Guide to Self-Love & Healing, and the memoir Dishes in the Sink: Cleaning Up a Mess We Didn’t Make, written under the pseudonym J.J. Hudson. Her work explores resilience, healing, family, identity, and the unmistakable grit of Southern life, with more projects on the horizon.
