Manuel Catena is an Italian author and web developer based in Nottingham, UK. He first visited New York at twenty-two — one of those places that had lived in his imagination long before he arrived. It is a first-person novel about an Italian man who moves to New York chasing a dream — and finds, unexpectedly, that the dream he was chasing was never really about the city. It was about a woman named Emily, and what it means to belong somewhere completely. This second edition (2026), revised and expanded, marks the novel's first publication in English. Manuel has lived and worked across Europe and the UK. He comes from Milan, AC Milan in his blood and a true rossonero in his heart — because some loyalties are simply born into you. He lives in Nottingham, where he coaches the Bingham Town FC U9 girls' team as a UEFA C licensed coach — bringing to the pitch the same passion he puts into his writing.
