I launched The Farmstead Press in 1973. It was established to publish specialty publications serving diverse reader constituencies. In 1988, however, I decided to pursue other interests and sold my publications to take the position of Professor of Journalism at the University of Alabama’s College of Communication. Additionally, I have served as adjunct professor of journalism and mass communication at Judson College in Marion, Ala., and the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala., as well as media professional for commercial print (The New York Times) and broadcast (WVUA-TV) enterprises. In 2014, I relaunched The Farmstead Press. Today, it again serves as a publisher of newly created magazines and books with its focus on living a simpler, more sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
